Breakfast at Tiffany's

This morning I decided to do a little virtual window shopping at Tiffanys.com. I'm sure that you have heard of, if not seen, the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's starring my idol the lovely miss Audrey Hepburn. Ever since I saw this movie when I was young I had a growing obsession with Tiffany's. It is not just because of this movie and Audrey's witty charm and elegance, but Tiffany's, to me, is a whimsical palace where every girl can feel like a princess. Have you ever been to Tiffany's? My first visit I was 16 and I walked in and told the girl who greeted me at the door, "I have never been here and I always wanted to come but I have little money so I am just going to look." She sparked a friendly smile, something I was not expecting. Here I am a sixteen year old girl with no money in an expensive jewelry store, I really was expecting to be asked to leave. Instead she put her hand on the back and said come check this out. We walked over to a display counter where these gorgeous glittering diamond rings lay snugly in teal heart shaped boxes. My eyes lit up. I grew up fairly poor and never came this close to actual diamond jewelry other than in magazines. The woman, with her own studded diamond Tiffany earrings that I could clearly see because her hair was up in a blond french twist, took out four of the teal boxes and put them on the counter. I look up at her in confusion. "They are beautiful but I told you.." She interrupted me and sweetly said, "No harm in trying them on." The biggest smile flashed across my lips. "You are, I'd say, about a 5 1/2." Then she took my hand and put the opened ring box in my grasp. "Seriously?" I blurted in shock. She just laughed and nodded in approval. I slipped the white gold diamond ring on the finger and it has been a  jewelry love affair ever since. I one day hope to have that diamond ring I tried on when I was sixteen. If only I could find it again. For now, I will have to move on and indulge in the wonder of virtual window shopping. It's fantastic don't you think? You can stare as long as you want on one piece and no one can see you drooling.

On to my holiday Tiffany finds...

One thing I certainly do love about Tiffany's is there is something there for everyone on your Holiday list. If you feel like splurging this Christmas, whether it be for your mother, father, hubby or brother, Tiffany's could be the answer. Here are a few gifts definitely worth giving for under $200:

Much Love,
Ash
